Another blog post that is late as usual :(

So, on Friday, Mutay and I went to Thorpe park. Wicked day! I captured some of it on video including our victory in the arcade (pssst, I won 2,096 points!) and the poor woman who had to count all the tickets that we had won. Some boys found out about how we won all them tickets and so they started hogging the game and eventually the tickets ran out :L The man working there had to turn it off in the end xP

I also suck at those dance machine games. Seriously, I have no sense of rhythm whatsoever. Think I’ll just stick with Just Dance on the Wii. “Cotton-eye Joe”, anyone?

Despite the rain, it was still pretty fun – we went on rides like loads of times because we only had to wait like 10 minutes :) My hair got proper messed up but I managed to strike a pose for the camera on one of the rides but due to lack of funds was unable to purchase said picture :(

The highlights of my week include finding out I can get a free box of cereal if I collet three tokens, being invited to the teamdd365 website and going to Thorpe park. Oh, and the fat man who got stuck on the ride we were on. The way he said so happily to his family, “I’ll see you later!”. Haha, good times.

I also went to see the sorcerers apprentice with my sister. It’s one of those films that is actually better than it looks :) I liked the flying metal eagle. Random: my sisters tooth fell out whilst she was eating popcorn – I popped out to the toilet, come out and she holds out her hand with her tooth, as I sit down, grinning like a maniac. LOL. Hopefully next week I’ll be seeing the last airbender. It looks so freaking good :)

Note: 2 days until the 1 year anniversary of StopRightThurr. Seriously, where the heck did that year go?! 4 days until my fate is sealed and 6 days until my 18th – Jesus, everything is happening so fast. Really wish time could slow down or something. Or I had a time machine – now THAT would be good :)

How have you guys been, anyway? I seriously need to return loads of comments – it’s like, woah! I seriously believe that when I get back into education I’ll be blogging every 5 minutes, and not like every 5 weeks. Haha :) Well, that’s all the updates for now. Blog soon.

Current state: Busy

The date is 4th August 2010 and the current time is 9:49am and Chynna is entirely sorry that she has spent nearly a month away from her blog. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if most of you guys have removed me from your affiliates list. If you haven’t, then I treasure you guys and thank you for being patient with me. :)

So, what have you guys been up to since I’ve been away. You’d think I’d have been away on holiday with the amount of time I spent away. Alas, that is not the case. I’ve just been busy going to the cinema, and hanging out with my friends and such. Just making the most of my summer really. My results are coming out soon (August 19th) – so, as the time gets closer I’m getting highly nervous. I mean, I have my birthday to look forward to (August 21st), the 1st anniversary of StopRightThurr (August 17th) but it’s those looming results that are getting the best of me. Ugh.

Seen any good films recently? I’ve basically watched all the big films in the cinema at the moment: The Karate Kid, Toy Story 3 and Inception. O-M-G – Toy Story 3, who’s seen it? It made me a cry SO much, it was unbelievable. Best film ever. The Karate Kid was also pretty good – the marital arts being like the best part of it all and also Jaden Smith. Bless him, he’s so adorable. It did do justice to the old Karate Kid, so I’mglad about that. Kind of wish they’d called it The Kung Fu Kid like they did in China seeing as he is doing kung fu and not karate. Haha. Inception is well mind-boggling. Mutay had to explain some parts to me but I got some parts for the most of it. Definitely will have to watch that film again to just try and understand it more. Totally blew my mind though.

I have this free trial with LoveFilm, so I’ve been making the most of that. Watched Brothers Grimm, Kung Fu Panda, Schindler’s List, etc. Basically my whole summer has been spent watching films. Oh, and going to Pizza Hut. And playing Facebook games. And such boring things like that. *cough*

I don’t really have exciting things to say really but that I make a vow to blog more often. You can hold me to that. :)

Ah, it’s been an age since I’ve last blogged. I’ve been super busy this past few weeks – I’ve missed blogging too much.

So, how have you guys been? I know some of you are on your summer holidays. My summer hasn’t been to bad actually. Obviously, I’m slightly on edge cause I find out my results on August 19th. I’ve probably complained about this before but – why, oh why, did results day have to be 2 days before my birthday? -sob.

Speaking of my birthday – my party planning is doing pretty well. Well, I’ve haven’t done any planning the only thing I’ve had to do is plan my party playlist and hand out my invitations. I’m kind of excited, but I think I’ll be more excited nearer the time. It’s weird to think that nearly 18 years of my life have gone by already. It’s gone by too fast, if you ask me. I’m going to show you a picture of my dress sometime soon – it’s a really pretty pink. I’m not much of a girly girl but the pink is such a nice colour.

Ah, I should tell you guys about Wireless Festival. Too many cute guys. -cough. That is not the point, haha. Wireless Festival was fricking AMAZING. P!nk is absolutely gorgeous. Like, if I was a guy then I would tap that. No lie. We saw Bowling For Soup play first – they are the cutest band ever. Seriously, I love them. They played classics like “1985″ and my favourite, “Girl All The Bad Guys Want”. We then saw Plan B – the guy is amazing. My friend, Charmaine, got excited when he started to sing the song, “Charmaine” – love, love, loved it. Temper Trap were okay – I hadn’t really heard of them before, but the lead guitarist was cute :) P!nk was officially the best though. They used a crane to hover a box over the stage and then she burst from it and ascended down with some huge golden wings. It was actually amazing. And near the end of the performance she did some pretty cool acrobatics. She has some mad skills. Unfortunately, my camera ran out of battery just before P!nk performed – so I didn’t get any good pictures. Sad times. All in all, it was pretty much the best night of my life. Definitely thinking about going next year depending on who’s performing.

I also went to Thorpe Park last week. Anyone thinking of going, I advise you against going into Saw: Live Action Horror Maze if you a complete scaredy-cat. I’m not usually scared of things but that was bloody scary! As soon as you get in, there’s a police lady and she’s like “If anyone gets lost or if someone gets taken away…” FREAKING SCARED THE SH*T OUT OF ME. I had my eyes closed for most of it but I swear to God something hairy brushed up against me. I also banged the edge of my head on some beam cause I was so scared. Eish. We went on Tidal Wave last because it was so hot and we needed to cool down – we went home soaking, haha.

I’m going to be off now because Diagnosis Murder keeps distracting (yes, I watch that programme :P) me. Blog later!

So, who’s been watching the World Cup?

Admittedly, I probably won’t be watching it as much, now that England have been thrashed by Germany, but I might catch up on it once in a while. I don’t know what it is about the World Cup but even those who don’t know jacksh*t about football or don’t even like it are being swept by the mania that is the World Cup. I mean, take me for example – I know absolutely diddlysquat about football but when the England vs. Slovenia game came around, I sat there shouting at my TV screen like there was no tomorrow.

Personally, I thought the England team had too much pressure on them. I mean practically everyone was like, “You HAVE to win it! You HAVE too,” and in the end, did they? Nope. I bet most England fans are blaming the manager, Fabio Capello, but excuse me – at the end of the day who is the one playing? Not the manager.

The headlines on the newspaper are really harsh this morning with one stating the team “Let their country down”. Way to push the team’s spirits lower than they already are! Jheeze. Some England fans are acting as if the Queen or someone equally as important (although, I don’t think the Queen is all that important because come to think of it what does she do?) has died. :\

Anyway, moving on – my dress for my 18th arrived from the Philippines the other day. It is so beautiful. Seriously. I’ll show you guys a picture later on. I need to lose weight though :< The dress fits but it’s a little tight. -Sigh. I’ve already started exercising – and I’ve got to say I’m pretty motivated :) For the past couple of days I’ve been doing 25 minutes in the morning and evening – I forgot what the machine I use is called but it’s really useful. I can feel the burn! I’ve also got my mum to get Wii Fit Plus – I’m going to pay her back in installments, so all is good. I am fully determined to fit into that dress, haha.

Wireless this Friday! I didn’t get the BBC work experience :( But I’m still searching! I also have two new affies, Aashni and Nancy! Woot :)

Ah, hello bloggers.

I was going to blog a couple of days ago, however 1. I had absolutely nothing to write about and 2. I’ve been proper busy.

Yes, despite me not having to go to school anymore because I’ve finished my exams, I have been flitting around like a busy bee. So, what should I talk about? The fact that my room is the tidiest it’s ever been in… ever. Yeah – I even went extreme and organised by Doctor Who magazines in date order. Geek alert. I’ve also completed a shed load of ironing, this morning/afternoon. Yep, that’s how long it took – started at 9.30 finished around 12.30 then I had to write a letter to my uncle who I don’t see very often because he lives in the countryside and then I had to make some CD covers. Pretty busy day, I’ve only managed to get a break now, so I thought I’d blog :)

How is everyone? More importantly, how does everyone like my amazingly, sexy, beautiful new layout? Joke lang! Lol, but really what do you think? I tried something new with this layout so that my pages that show info about me and the site, etc. don’t have a sidebar. I think it turned out really quite well – took me forever to code because I had to research on how to make seperate pages without a sidebar but m’eh. I think it was worth the trouble.

I currently have to look for work experience. I’ve already applied for some at the BBC where you get to find out more about the workings behind things like BBC iPlayer and also look into digital media, blah blah blah. It looks interesting, I doubt I’ll get the place though because I now a lot of people apply for work experience at the BBC but fingers crossed, yeah? I’m also going to email Absolute Radio and hopefully they’ll have something there for me too. I’m kinda glad I’m looking for work experience because otherwise I’d be completely bored. Most of my friends are still having their exams (poor souls) and I haven’t seen de la Mutay in agesssss, but hopefully going to see her tomorrow. So much to catch up on!

On another note, my ticket for the Wireless Festival came in the post the other day. Definitely something to look forward – cannot wait :D

Ah, I don’t really have anything to blog about but I just felt like blogging. Oh yes, I have a new affiliate – Simone, she’s simply amazing. Honest!

And in top news today:

1. Since I’ve been away, I’ve watch 3 dramas and have to finish the last episode of another (it’s 2 hours!)
2. I’ve developed a seriously deep, deep love for Show Luo. Seriously, when that man dances, sings, acts or does anything he makes me go gaga.
3. I have a yearning to learn Mandarin. I can now say basic phrases such as “Hello” “Thank you” and “Goodnight”. Oh, and I can also count to ten in Mandarin – with the hand gestures (谢谢你, YT!)
4. I’ve downloaded a whole bunch of OSTs – and it’s the only music I’ll listen to right now. No joke. Asian music speaks to me – despite me having a low understanding of what they’re singing about. I’m grateful for the MVs that have English subtitles.
5. I ordered Show Luo’s newest album, Luo Sheng Men, from YesAsia. ABSOLUTELY FREAKING IN LOVE WITH THE THING. The box has a cover which you can peel off – hence, two different album covers. There’s a little book inside that I don’t understand because it’s all written in Chinese, however, the pictures are amazing! Seriously, my heart exploded into a million, tiny pieces when are saw them. He’s so shuài (handsome). ;) Pictures here.
6. I’VE MISSED YOU GUYS SO MUCH!

Exams are over; summer has officially started. And yet, I’m still going to have this anxious feeling in my stomach until August 19^th arrives and I receive my results. Worst-case scenario, my grades are sh*t and I don’t get into Coventry – and my birthday will be so shit. Why must I find out my results so near to my birthday? It’s so unfair.

Anyway, I’m hoping I don’t get to worst-case scenario mode. You’re probably wondering, “How the hell did you watch three dramas when you said you’d be studying for your upcoming exams and stuff?” You’d be surprised! Basically, I’d do my revision and then, as a reward, I’d watch an episode before I go to bed and on the days that my lessons start late I’d watch an episode in the morning. Worked very well, actually.

How have you all been? I have actually missed blogging so much – as you can see I had quite a lot to tell you even though it mostly comprises of my fangirl-ness being full blast at the moment.

Since I decided to go hiatus on this blog my life has been SO busy. What with hectically trying to finish my coursework to doing some last minute revision. I tell you now, I’m so glad to be rid of the coursework. I hate coursework with a passion – it’s the freaking bane of my existence. I have no idea how I managed to pull it off but I did. I’m not too happy with my English coursework though, that’s for one but I’m mildly satisfied with my Media. Well, the practical production part anyway. I had to make a cover and contents page for a new sci-fi magazine; The contents page was kind of rushed because I didn’t have much time, however it came out better than I anticipated. So here’s the lowdown~ I think I did slightly alright on my first Classics paper about architecture and sculpture, etc. Slightly more confident for my second Classics paper on the Aeneid and the Iliad. I’m quietly confident on my Media exam, though. I hate the fact that everyone thinks that the subject is easy – it bloody well is not! You have know about theories, audience/hyperdermic needle/two-step flow (which I thought was a dance step, haha) and then you also have to know about Marxism, post-colonialism, post-modernism, etc. People think that all you have to do is watch films and look at YouTube videos. Che! They should take the damn subject first before they even say anything about it! Hmph. My English exam… I don’t know how I feel about it. I think I did well because when I was in the exam a lot of things suddenly came to me and I was writing for my life in that hall but again, I felt that exam was a bit weird… Hmm, anyway~ Exams are all over now. What can I do but wait?

I’m back a day early from my hiatus because I got a bit excited with the fact that I  NOW HAVE NO MORE EXAMS! Yaay *dance* Basically, this next month I will be lounging around watching the filipino version of My Girl again (because I didn’t get to finish it last time due to insufficient subbed episodes D<) and listening to F.T Island~ My new favourite band. Seriously, these guys are hot stuff. I am totally in love with Hongki. Hummahumma~ He’s so cute as Jeremy in YB as well (refer to part after bolded caps for more info.) Ah, I’ve also acquired a new stuffed toy which I ordered from Malaysia. It’s the same toy that Jiro Wang has in the drama ToGetHer or Superstar Express (which I still need to finish watching) and his name is Mumu. I FREAKING LOVE HIM. Seriously. How can you not love this cute thing? :3

The three dramas I watched were, Hi My Sweetheart (thank you to Pauline for suggesting this drama to me!), Corner With Love & You’re Beautiful. Hi My Sweetheart & You’re Beautiful are top on my favourite dramas of all time.

Corner With Love not so much – I really only watched it because Show Luo was in it but it was an okay drama. Not sure how I feel about the ending, but Da S sure is pretty. I would gladly petition for a second series of CWL just so I can see more of Show.

HMS made me cry like a little baby. The tears would not stop flowing. But more importantly, it made me laugh SO much. Seriously, from Da Lung’s mushroom haircut and the cute little skip/walk thing he did, I was literally like, “肏~ This drama is SO good.” His underbite got me, every time that Da Lung would talk it would make me want to put my bottom jaw out and just pout for no reason. And the Pink Panther dance – oh good Lord, I’m seriously contemplating learning that dance. Yes, it is that great. Check it out for yourself.

Rainie Yang, I believe, is one of the best Asian actresses of this generation. When I see her crying it seriously made me want to cry too, and it was like I felt her character’s pain despite having not gone through any of what she had. HMS is seriously brilliant and if you are a fan of watching dramas, then definitely put this at number 1 of your list to watch. Slightly disappointed that Hsueh Hai wasn’t present in the end but eh, we can’t all have it can we? Lin Da Lung is adorable though. HMS totally made me fall in love with Show Luo and I search YT all the time for any new clips of him – he’s also the host of Yu Le Bai Fen Bai (100% Entertainment) alongside Xiao Gui (who was also in CWL!). I firmly believe that Rainie and Show should date in real life (Though, he should be actually dating me *cough*). You’re Beautiful – HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA~ No, seriously. That drama is HILARIOUS. The amount of parodies in there; from Manager Ma’s “Sorry Sorry” by SuJu to Jeremy’s Lee Junki CF parody – I think I must have died from laughter several hundred times. Also, I keep hearing Miley Cyrus and Sean Kingston playing in the background whenever they went to a restaurant or nightclub. Oh, and Lee Hong Ki (who plays Jeremy) is seriously the cutest EVER. EVER. He just makes me want to hug him all day long! Especially when he’s with his dog, Jolie (named after Angelina Jolie which I find hilarious!). Jang Geun-suk is super, super adorable as Hwang Tae Kyung – when he does that pouty thing and his lips move around, aiyoo. So cute. And I am certain that he and Park Shin-hye (who plays Go Mi Nam) have something going on – proof? http://video.yahoo.com/watch/6596404/17125261 Say no more. Shin Woo kind of annoyed me in the beginning of the drama – especially the scene where he bought Go Mi Nam shoes EVEN though she obviously couldn’t wear them because she was still pretending to be her a boy. Also, Uee, who played Yoo He Yi, is so much nicer IRL than she is in the drama – in the drama she was some round-faced, big-eyed diva. Pfft. This drama definitely needs a second series. Why? BECAUSE HOW CAN YOU MAKE GO MI NAM GO TO AFRICA AND LEAVE TAE KYUNG ALL BY HIMSELF AND HE MAY HAVE TO FEND OFF BITCHES LIKE YOO HE YI WHO IS TRYING TO GET WITH HIM?! how much time do you take writing a single post?? haha because sometimes I find it really long and it’s like written for days :D
Sometimes it depends on what I’m writing about. Most days they tend to be short, well short for me. If I’m ranting I tend to write my blog up on Word first – I don’t know why I do that, though. But wait, that was not the question. Haha, usually half an hour to about an hour because I like to actually think about what I’m writing. And then afterwards I obsess over spellcheck because I’m such a grammar freak :P

I shouldn’t really be writing this blog post because I should be finishing the essay I have up on Word right now but it’s just so boring. I was on such a roll as well but then I hit a snag and my brain cells didn’t want to keep going. Sucks, eh? You ever get that?

YouTube keeps distracting me as well… I’m so excited to be doing our next vlog because of all the positive feedback we’ve received. I’m going to be digging out my camcorder and looking for my charger so we can hopefully make a video in the park – that would be so cool. Mutay came to visit me today, which was pretty cool.

I would be lying if I say that the certain guy situation doesn’t bother me. Because it does. A LOT. I did get that diary I was talking about a few posts back. I found my old one (which is so ridiculously filled with sh*t, it’s unbelievable) and I’ve just started writing in that one. I’ve noticed that

1) You don’t need to feel obligated to write it and
2) You really don’t have to write pages upon pages

Just writing a few lines for me is a stress reliever upon itself. It’s great to just write the little things that swim around in my mind. You guys should try it out.

I actually don’t have much to blog about really. I should really be getting back to the essay but knowing me, I probably procrastinate even further and end up just tweeting the night away. Sucks to be me.

Moving on, I HAVE EXAMS NEXT MONTH. Of course, I already knew this but now that’s it’s nearing closer to them I’m starting to slightly panic :\ I think I’ll be okay in Media and Classics, it’s just English that’s really bugging me at the moment. I swear to God, English will exist to be the bane of my existence. English used to be my favourite subject but now it’s ever so slowly torturing me. I still haven’t finished reading my books, but I’m SO close to finishing them – but you know, with English when reading books for that subject I’m always slow. Even if the book is interesting. :\

“The Other Boleyn Girl” came in the post the other day and I started reading it. It differs heavily from the film but there are still some elements that are the same. I think I’m finding the book better than the film but we’ll see how it goes along. I also ordered “Let the Right One In” which is a vampire fiction novel. Before I swore off vampire fiction, ever since I read Twilight but I don’t know, this one looked really interesting. You can read the summary here. There’s also a film, which is in Swedish, but there will be a English version coming out later this year. I’m not that into horror films but something about this seems to have captured my eye.

I’m supposed to be reading books from the list of “50 Books To Read Before You Die” but I haven’t gotten round to looking at the list properly yet. If you are looking for a challenge to set yourself be sure to check that one out.

I watched Kick-Ass the other day. Very, uhm… violent. Chloë Moretz is a great actress though, and she’s only thirteen!

It’s that time of the year again. FESTIVAL TIME.
This year I’m going to Wireless Festival with two of my friends in July. Mutay was supposed to come along as well, but she couldn’t make it because of school. Wireless Festival is going to be so cool and I’m pretty psyched because P!nk is headlining the event. July 2nd 2010 cannot come any sooner!

School started back today, except I didn’t have to go in because there was no point in going to my English lesson because my teacher would bust a nut because I haven’t completed my coursework and because of the late start we only would have had a half hour lesson anyway and my Media Studies teacher wasn’t in either. I think my Media teacher may be stuck in Hawaii because of the whole Icelandic volcano ash thing going on over here and how the flights have all be cancelled and he went there for his honeymoon (the fact that he is now married creeps the hell out of me.). If that’s the case the, SHIT FUCK BOLLOCKS. My class need him to complete out coursework and our deadline is the end of the month. Or it could be that he just wasn’t in. That to.

Mutay and I are vlogging on Wednesday. I’m EXCITED. Obviously we have questions to be answered and stuff but I want some natural comedy to come in there too. Hopefully, it won’t be too bad.

No updates on the certain guy situation except he did leave an offline message saying he was REALLY sorry but he’s just been busy. I’m glad I didn’t push it like last time (that’s a whole different story for another blog post which involved me being a n00b and sending a message that wasn’t meant for him and blah blah blah) but I still think we need to talk. Properly.

I watched ‘The Other Boleyn Girl’ today (instead of doing some work, like I intended to do) and I really liked it. Anne Boleyn was portrayed as such a bitch in this film, though. She was the one who got Henry to annul his marriage with Catherine of Aragon and break away from the church. She was a woman on a mission. Obviously, there were some bits that were historically incorrect like the fact that Anne Boleyn’s sister, Mary, may have been older than Anne and not younger than her like the film suggests. Also, the film portrays Mary as sexually inexperienced when in fact she was a consort to the king of France. Wikipedia can tell you so much. ‘The Other Boleyn Girl’ was also a book and I’ve ordered it off Amazon (£1.99, bargain!). It looks quite interesting.

Speaking of books, I’ve been procrastinating and not reading my prescribed texts from school and instead have just finished reading ‘I Was Jane Austen’s Best Friend, A Secret Diary’ by Cora Harrison. It’s about Jane Austen’s cousin, Jenny Cooper (who was actually Jane Cooper but the author didn’t want two Jane’s), who keeps a diary about everything that happens in her life and Jane Austen is her best friend. She falls in love with a Captain Williams and gets married when she is only sixteen! Whirlwind romance, much? I’ve also got ‘The Lady Elizabeth’ by Alison Weir to read. So much historical fiction. I love it!

In one of those whimsical moments I came up with a short story (when I say short, I mean short not like two or three pages than some people like to write – that to me constitutes as a chapter and they may as well write a book) which you can check out below or here.
